I read Dr. Glickman’s blog post the other day and giggled.

Ever since having a conversation with a dear friend about the Palin porn he envisioned (filed under MILF of course) I’ve been waiting for the industry to pony up and release a Palin-inspired title. And after watching last night’s debate… I was hoping somebody would hurry and start filming…

The wait is over! Just read this on AVN:

Hustler Reveals Details of Palin Porn Flick
Lisa Ann to play lead role in ‘Nailin’ Paylin’

By: David Sullivan

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Hustler Video has cast Lisa Ann as Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a porn spoof called Nailin’ Paylin.

Word of the latest political parody from Larry Flynt and company spread earlier today after the New York Daily News printed a rumor that Hustler was seeking Palin look-alikes on Craigslist. Hustler Video denied any connection with the ad but confirmed the Palin parody is in the works.

“Nailin’ Paylin will take the viewer on a naughty adventure to the wild side of that sexy Alaska governor,” the company announced in a press release. “Sara Paylin will not only be showing us some girl-on-girl lovin’ but will also be nailing the Russians, who come knocking on her back-door (wink, wink) and in a flashback, young Paylin’s creationist college professor will explain a ‘big bang’ theory even she can’t deny!”

One scene will show the Palin character in a lesbian threesome with characters based on Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice. The movie will also feature a Bill O’Reilly character as the announcer who dishes dirt on the Paylin sex scandals.

“Obviously, the real life antics of Sarah Palin are much funnier than anything we could ever make up,” Hustler exec Jeff Thill told AVN. “Her public appearances seem more like a trailer for a Farrelly brothers film then a carefully executed run at the White House.”

Jerry T. is signed to direct. Hustler plans to have Nailin’ Paylin on the streets in time for the November election.

Shouldn’t it be “Man and Woman” or “Husband and Wife”… you know… it references “I now join you, man and wife… you may kiss the bride…” Man owns his woman as property marriage vow from way back in the day… eh, straight cisexual people, go figure. I’ll let it drop because I really do love how OPEN they are about talking about sex and sharing it with their audience.

Turns out that on September 29th, MTV is going to premier the show, bringing pretty explicit sexual health topic, as well as information and resources, yey, to the ginormous mass of MTV viewers. The demographic is perfect; particularly as I imagine the show to combate some of the more dumbed-down representation of sexual relationships that youth see in music videos. Shanda is also an HIV/AIDS counselor.

Walking to work I saw paper after paper, national and local, touting the good news that gay marriage is now officially legal in California. The historic coupling of Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin was San Francisco’s first to be married after being together for over 50 years… honestly it brought tears to my eyes. Not just because it’s gay marriage but because – well, it’s just ludicrous. What gives anybody the right to deny people who love each other the rights and privileges that everybody else has. Whether people should get all those rights and privileges for registering their love with the government is a discussion for another day. For today it’s just so sweet to see photos of couples who are finally getting to do what straight people have done and done again for years.

But, as with many political situations, this issue runs deeper than local… there are people all over the world engaged in this same struggle for rights and we have many battles to wage before we can call it a day.

Many links later I read this article and it reminded me how far we have to go. This story is upsetting in so many ways and representative of the varied fights we have to fight and the difficult struggles the LGBT community has ahead of us:

Photo by: Jorge Saenz * News source [Yahoo]

ASUNCION, Paraguay – A couple jailed on suspicion of having a same-sex wedding was freed Monday after a doctor determined that the groom is a hermaphrodite. Prosecutor Jose Planas ordered the couple jailed after their civil wedding Friday, when the priest scheduled to perform the religious ceremony the following day said he received a call saying the groom, Jesus Alejandro Martinez, was actually a woman.

Same-sex marriages are illegal in Paraguay, and news of the arrest became the talk of the nation.

Planas had threatened Martinez with five years in prison for falsification of documents, and said he could charge the bride, Blanca Estigarribia, with complicity.

But the couple was released Monday. A doctor who inspected Martinez in jail ruled that he is a hermaphrodite, with atrophied female genitals and well-developed male genitals, according to the couple’s lawyer, Jorge Cantero.

“Conclusion: He is a man,” Cantero said.

He also said the document in the name of Jesus Alejandro Martinez is legitimate, meaning the forgery charges wouldn’t have held up.

“So this case goes into the archives,” he said. “It will remain as an anecdote for the media and a bad experience for my clients.”

Martinez, who has some feminine traits, said he suspected an ex-girlfriend made the accusation to the priest.

“I always felt like a man, with no feminine inclination,” he said.

Martinez said the couple would continue to live along the border near the Argentine city of Clorinda — “where everybody knows us and loves us.”

And the beat goes on….

Taormino writes of two of the newest trans-focused DVDs Couch Surfers by Trannywood Pictures and Trans Entities: The Nasty Love of Papi and Wil, a docu-porn by Morty Diamond. Her article is well-written and honest, as well as optimistic of a strong future for pornographers and audiences interested in transsexual men.

I’m curious about the road we took to get here, because for me, queer porn is more than just for jerking off; it’s a radical movement that concerns self-empowerment, visibility, and validation of how one’s gender/perceived and sexual identity meet. And to display this hot juncture publicly, through pornography, is a political act as much as it a personal decision. (A timeline of social movements in race, gender, and sexuality can be constructed through the lenses of contextualized pornography distribution. But that’s another topic for another time.)

How many pornographic films make their way to the public through film festivals? This is the route of a queer film; one which meets it’s viewers through through word-of-mouth and through enthusiastic audiences packed into non-profit events.

From butch to boi:
In the early nineties, some filmmakers inspired by the graphic depictions of lesbian sexuality found in the pages of On Our Backs Magazine, and distanced by the “Lesbian Porn” (aka Girl/Girl sex) produced by men, staring heterosexual women and distributed for the male marketed, decided to enter the industry and create films for their own queer community. These films usually ran around a half an hour long, and often just featured one or two scenes with a handful of stars. One of the earliest, Suburban Dykes, stared Nina Hartley and Sharon Sharon Mitchell, and showed a butch side to lesbian identity, as did BurLEZk (that’s right, sound it out) which featured lesbian striptease but also drag king performance. San Francisco Lesbians series, delivered real dyke action complete with crossdressing and butch attitudes up until 2002, where SIR Productions took the reign to satisfy the niche with a number of films, including Hard Love and How to Fuck in High Heels, featuring butch performers. Full Load was another film which showcased dyke and trans-identified performers.

From Gay to Queer:
Buck Angel rose to recent mainstream acclaim through a winning charisma and an unabashed sexual appetitive, as well as some pretty eye-catching tag-lines such as “Man with a Pussy”, “Mangina”, and “FTM Pornstar”. With his own video line, website, and titles such as “Buckback Mountain”, his recent recognition as AVN Transsexual Performer of the Year and nominated for a GayVN were well deserved.

However, many pornographers still lay under the radar.

Christopher Lee gave a strong sexual voice to directors and stars alike, with 1998 Alley of the Trannyboys and 1999 Sex, Flesh in Blood, a gothic thriller with a complete cast of color. His work is acknowledged in the Transsexual Porn article on QLBTQ Archives. Showing performers in a number of acts previously not seen on film, Lee gave a cinematic voice to the sex acts of queers, which many found validating and very, very inspiring.

Luke Woodward’s Enough Man (2005) was an explicit documentary that opened many eyes as it toured film festivals; Morty Diamond’s Trannyfags (2003) and the work of Lee and Woodward inspired for Trannywood Pictures to use video to promote Safer Sex practices and education about FtMs. Trannywood produced Cubbyholes (2007), and Couch Surfers (2008). Their work depicts trans guys having sex with each other, and with biological men.

Inspired by films such as “The Hole”, Pink & White Productions‘ director Shine Louise Houston took cinematic formula and visuals from gay porn and translated them to a sexual storyboard for dyke/trans couples. With the focus of the scenes on the performers’ chemistry, gender is often blurred and performers who are post-op MtF or pre-op FtM slip by invisible to the unknowing eye. Asked by a number of mainstream journalists, what made her films any different than mainstream Lesbian (Girl/Girl) films, Houston tackled the question in a mocu-documentary In Search of the Wild Kingdom (2007) where the film asks the question “What is queer porn?” Wild Kingdom won a Feminist Porn Award for “Hottest Trans Sex Scene 2008″ with the performance of stars Papi and Wil.

Morty Diamond took audiences hungry for more Papi and Wil even further with Trans Entities: The Nasty Love of Papi and Wil (2008), a docu-porn that allows the viewer to really get to know the stars; how they identify, how they live and love, and this makes the film hotter by the minute as we come to feel that we know them just as the scenes become more and more intimate. The stars identify as ‘Trans Entities’; in this case the education of gender to people outside of the immediate understanding, and the validation of gender to people inside their own questioning of gender expression and play, becomes apparent.

Trans Love Online
Before you google “Trans Porn”, be warned by blogger Violet Blue — there was a time when google treated the word trans, and dyke, as a bad word. Context is everything, and google was quite offensive when it blocked the word “transgrrrl” but allow “she-males” to pass. Hopefully with Google well trained since witnessed in Blue’s 2007 article, web perverts hungry for trans/queer porn can get their fill through a number of companies.

As featured in Violet’s Article, Red Handed Porn is a website which eagerly welcomes trans folks to apply. Interviewed by Misty last year for Masturbation Month, the site features people from most walks of life through intimate solo masturbation. Similar to Morty’s docu-porn, Red Handed asks the performers questions about their identity, and their experience with porn. It is as enlightening as it is hot.

CrashPadSeries.com is the continuation of Pink & White Production’s 2006 bestseller The Crash Pad. The site features episodes of real couples, of all queer gender identities and sexual appetites through downloadable video and extensive photo sets. GV sells a recent DVD release of the top five episodes from the site’s first season, Crash Pad Series: Volume 1, which was awarded a Feminist Porn Award.

Other queer online sites have featured trans performers, such as NoFauxxx.com. “Porn that Doesn’t Fake It”, No Fauxxx has a strong community feel, a D.I.Y. aesthetic, and some of the cutest genderfucking portrayed in photo sets, ever.

Pssssst… do you want to see some of the old school dyke porn made in the 80s and 90s? Here’s a tip — go to Trannywood Picture’s VOD site, where you can watch Trannywood films, as well as Buck Angel, San Francisco Lesbians, Full Load, and some of your favorite old films that are no longer distributed or available on DVD.

One of the best parts about working at Good Vibrations is the ability to take home pornos so we all can get a good look at the videos we carry.

I just borrowed FUCK (Wicked Pictures, Directed by Brad Armstrong) and it was truly everything it said it would be.

I loved the production value of this film — really well done! Each scene depicted a historical period/theme. Granted, it was eurocentric, heterosexist, and the narration concluded with some questionable future of female sexuality. (AI anyone?) … but I’m a really tough critic and was so impressed with this film that I watched it from start to finish.

I think most viewers will find a favorite vignette to enjoy. I found two. An embellished scene with Latina Ice LAfox playing Kali (or Mahakali) was masterfully done — the choreography of the arms of the Hindu goddess was conceptualized particularly well. Talk about handjob/blowjob central — with six arms and one lovely hungry mouth, Kali embodied strong female power in a sex act usually seen as degrading. My other favorite was the Victorian Era Playhouse (with one of my favorite hapa pornstars Katsuni). The scene incorporated theatrical elements like choreography and costuming, accentuating the womens’ hyper sexualized drag characters. The shots of Katsuni and others sitting in the playhouse watching the action onstage was a great self-referential point that really carried over the themes of lesbian desire and the “role” of femininity quite nicely. And Katsuni’s puppet interpretation was very believable. The amount of detail that went into staging, lighting, and particularly hair and make-up… wow. Sound score, editing, all of it was perfect. The other scenes from the film were all gorgeous, Katsuni stole the show at the dinner party scene as well, and we got to see both Sean Michaels and Mr. Marcus in one scene with some really good looking dobermans.

If you get a chance, do try to see really high quality films like FUCK , Fashionistas, and other large production porns sold at GV, do it!

Here’s a teaser from their safe for youtube trailer

A good friend just passed this call for submissions to me. It’s an 2009 anthology of Black Lesbian Erotica, edited by Shonia L. Brown and brought to us by Nghosi Books. Please note the submission specifications; they’re looking for erotica that doesn’t focus necessarily on sex. “Be as sexy, sensual, even explicit as you like, but no porn.” Please contact the Nghosi Books for more information (if I were submitting, I would… the “explicit as you like, but no porn” part is a little confusing to me).
Shonia’s work appears in Ma-Ka Diasporic Juks: Contemporary Writing by Queers of African Descent. I’m a big fan of anthologies; I love reading works by a group of authors who are all coming together under a commonality. Another book that I like which focuses on race and sexuality is Queer Papi Porn: Gay Asian Erotica edited by Joel Tan. If you’ve got a recommended reading, add it to the comments for this post.

It’s too good to pass up — there’s such a lack of education out there, so please pass this along to anyone you think can contribute. If you have any online resources, comment them here, or in the previous post I wrote about Asian American sex blogs.

Women/People of Asian Descent Speak on Race, Sex Work, Power, Art and Love

ed. by Gennifer M. Hirano, M.Ed.

A collection of realistic, diverse accounts of Asian womens’ lives is URGENTLY needed to educate our youth and communities about the realities of our lives and the strength of our sex worker rights movements. We must not allow them to continue to feed the people media clichés of being only sex trafficking victims without demanding that our voices be heard as well. This anthology is a collection of accounts from women of Asian descent who are current and former sex workers, researchers, [post]feminists, activists, lawyers, artists, mothers and more. Women working in Asian countries, Asian-Americans, LGBTQs of Asian Descent, Hapas and baby mamas are invited to submit writing that will present readers with a portal to complexify the dialogue and perception of the Asian Sex Worker working in the U.S and abroad. These accounts should examine crucial themes in your life and the ways in which the perception of others related to the issues of race, sex work, power, art and/or love has affected you. (For instance, if you are not a sex worker why and how does this topic affect you? How are you involved in this world?) Men are also welcome to submit, the gender specific requirement is yet undecided and contingent on quantity/quality of male submissions.

Possible issues and key words to explore include Migrant Sex Work, Sex Work Activism in Asia, Cultural perception of the Prostitute, A Queer Sex Worker’s dialogue with her boyfriend, The Myths and Truths of Trafficking, Sex Slave Victims, Raid and Rescue Missions, Me Love You Long Time, Sex Tourism, Miss Saigon, Cambodian children for sale, Mail Order Brides, outreach in Oriental Massage Parlors…

OPTION #2-Search under “Me Love You Long Time” on You Tube [here you go] and watch the original footage sequence from Full Metal Jacket. Write a 3-500 word response/reaction to the clip. Feel free to contextualize the 2 Live Crew song and your present and past perceptions into your response. Do you think that the woman in the clip is empowered?Submit using any name you wish to be published with your piece along with a 3 sentence bio. Photo Essays, Interviews, and Academic Papers from College (if you really still think they’re good) are welcome. 1500-2000 words, word files to gmh@asianprincessar tifacts.com by NOVEMBER 15, 2007.
