Sex Questions from the Twittersphere – Egg Bullet Safety

Question:

Is it safe to insert egg bullets? i thought the cord was a possible safety hazard?

The cord is a safety hazard in two main ways: People assume they can use it to remove the vibe, then one day it breaks and leaves the vibe inside them; and the insertion point of the cord into the vibrator can’t be adequately cleaned. So, if you want to use an egg vibe internally, pop it into a condom, use the condom to pull the vibe out with when you’re done playing, and you’ve handled the hazards of using the toy that way. Other toys with non-electrical cords should be treated the same way, unless you’re sure the cord can be adequately cleaned (anal beads on a string can’t, SmartBalls on a string can because the string is dipped in silicone and isn’t permeable… until the silicone cracks, and then you have a cleaning problem again.)
