Dr. Carol Queen says...

"The answer is: 22nd and Guerrero is where GV opened; the next location (before the 23rd/Valencia one we moved from a couple of years ago) was further west on 22nd, closer to Dolores. Confirmed all this with JB, though she doesn't remember street numbers.

Hi Lydia,

I'm on the job of finding out! I only moved here to SF Bay Area in 1999, and I believe many of my co-workers also were not familiar with the original store. Someone here knows, so I'll let you know asap after I hear back. I'm sure Dr. Carol Queen knows!

My personal bet is Dolores and 22nd, like your commenter said. We'll see if they were right!

Thanks for the ping back, but here's a question that we were unable to resolve. Our reporter said that your original store was on Valencia at 22nd street, but a reader said it was Dolores. Finally we took down the exact site, but can you tell us where the original store opened? Thank you, Lydia
