With so many review round-ups, most recently by Pleasurist, a weekly sex toy review round up lasso’d by editrix Scarlet Lotus Sexgeek. If you haven’t seen it posted around these parts, it’s similar to Sugasm and The Week in Kink. We’re happy to see some of our toys popping up on Pleasurist!

We’ve recently picked a handful of reviewers to give a toy of their choice (and in some cases VOD or DVD) a test drive. It’s all part of a new, top secret program we’re working on. Stay tuned as this will be a great opportunity for GV Affiliates and interested reviewers alike.

Reviewers were encouraged to take their time, and to really get to know their toy. These products are not free swag, but toys and gifts that were hand-picked to sell at our stores and on our website, items that we value and that we hope future customers will find and love. Naturally, everybody is different and some need more time than others. We sent products out over the course of a few weeks and we’ll be seeing reviews pop up until New Years!

Here’s a first glance at some of the reviews written so far:

Domina Doll who writes for Viviane’s Sex Carnival and her own blog Pop My Cherry was our first VOD reviewer to dive headfirst into our online VOD (Video On Demand) and PPM (Pay Per Minute) Digital Download section of GoodVibes.com for her review Pay-Per-View VOD at GoodVibes. She enjoyed our quality selection — these films go through the same video selection criteria as the titles we carry in our stores. “Great quality films, good selection of award-winners, features, women directed and sex positive flicks.  Good connection and quality viewing.  The ability to pause, FF and RW, without being charged.  Affordable.  The ability to download quickly while viewing.” We think this selection is PERFECT for folks new to porn as well — they have the chance to browse a new genre to see if they like it, and enjoy the flick immediately right there on their laptop. Domina pointed out some areas she’d like improvements, such as adding more titles to VOD. Many independent studios do not have VOD options yet; if they decide to we will jump at the opportunity to carry them. Other titles are being added as we speak. We’re passing along the info to improve the user experience, such offering free minutes in exchange for reviews. Great idea!

Sabina T-Gurl also got the chance to jump in and check out our Transwoman selection of films on VOD on her post on TonysTGurls.com. We really appreciated her joining our reviewers and not just because we’re fans of her erotica. Finding quality films that represent transwomen is difficult as the titles and content is usually offensive to transwomen and to most of our transgender community of staff and customers; we’re proud to say that we think we have a pretty good selection of titles (featuring genderqueers and transmen as well) and Sabina had a blast with T-Girls Fantasies 2 “We’re treated to five couples, in comfortable settings, doing EVERYTHING — and with occasional camera angle that made even this long-time-from-virginal transgurl blush!” We’re so glad she loved it! Games add spice to a party (be it a group of friends, lovers, or a party of two!). Our reviewer Roxy got into her Review: Bondage 101 Game. She even took her own photos of the game, and was thoughtful enough to mention our event schedule of workshops, which we always appreciate. She also offers a fun idea: “…for those who are a bit more adventuresome, the cards alone would do the trick: i’m imagining picking a favorite card and leaving it for your sweetie on a pillow, taped to the mirror in the bathroom, or attached to a love note left on the computer. You can let the cards speak for you when you’re not sure how to find the words.” Thank you Roxy for your review of Bondage 101 Game.

Sexorcism is a simple blog devoted to reviews. We appreciated their straight forward approach and enjoyed reading about the Acuvibe, which we agree, does the job fast. “I can come in about five minutes, reliably, with the Acuvibe. That’s great when you’re stressed and need to get off but don’t have time to wine and dine yourself. You can just spend a little time with the Acuvibe and get back on schedule.”

Adriana from OfSexandLove.com took a risk and tried a unique toy that she’d been curious about for quite some time, the Rock Chick. It took her more than one shot for her to find her groove with the toy; one reason why reviews are so important to folks who don’t have the luxury of popping into one of our physical store locations and feeling a product for themselves. She held in there, and got a good full experience to satisfy her curiousity. “Once I got the hang of it, using the Rock Chick really mimicked the way I had been masturbation and allowed me to receive the pleasure I required to orgasm.

Still, I wanted to see if this was a fluke and took yet another test drive with the Rock Chick. This time the G-spot stimulation was almost null and I could definitely tell I wasn’t finding the sweet spot I had found the second time I used it. I do not think this toy is going to be one which offers me a lot of internal sensation. However, I do like the feeling of being able to clench down on something when orgasming clitorally so I do like the internal aspect.

I was able to orgasm yet again and I noticed that the Rock Chick seemed to become a bit more supple each time I used it. I was able to pressure it closed against my pubic bone as I rocked with this toy, providing even more pressure.”
