how good vibes is going to save America from the Republicans
By smartyboots • Aug 8th, 2008 • Category: BlogTurns out former presidential and vice presidential nominee John Edwards had an affair with a young filmmaker while he was campaigning. A friend alerted me to this, and I was initially really surprised at how angry she was about it – we both pretty much believe that what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is their own business, and of course we have no way of knowing what, if any, agreement Edwards had with his wife Elizabeth. Then my friend pointed out that he did this WHILE HE WAS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. Because he would apparently like to hand the presidency to the Republicans for the next eight years.
Now, granted, Republicans seem to get a free pass on this – McCain left his disabled wife to marry a much younger heiress and Newt Gingrich did very much the same, but without the heiress part. I guess we expect them to be heartless, and if you get away with it, it’s not actually dumb.
But Dems! Please! What are you thinking? Bill? Elliot? John?
I have come up with a solution – I propose that, in order to protect their candidacies, Good Vibes provide all male Democratic candidates with a Tunnel Of Love and some nice lube. If they can’t keep it in their pants, maybe they can at least keep it out of their aides.
