Well, they are. Giana Taylor, founder of the 1st Annual Urban Spice Awards is recognizing adult industry talent who usually only get their for nods in the “Best Ethnic” categories. Shafted (literally?!) by award after award, this Sunday’s award ceremony brings some of our favorite adult film stars to the forefront.

People tend not to use the word ‘interracial’ to describe themselves, instead identifying as “mixed race” or “hapa”, etc…
Stars like Tera Patrick and Katsuni would be in that category, if there was one. I think it’s great and really interesting for Urban Spice Awards to include an Interracial Category. Particularly as it by definition calls attention to a performers’ race, and race play during sex. Race can be a sensitive topic, so the ways in which it is portrayed in pornography are often under heavy scrutiny. I’ll check back with the winners!
