Seriously, though, I agree that sex appeal plays a role in politics in our media-saturated culture. I have heard so many references to the candidate&#039;s looks, as if that had any impact on their ability to lead the country. 

Yet Americans have embraced public figures like Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres, David Letterman and Jay Leno -- none of whom will be walking a catwalk anytime soon.

And let&#039;s not forget that Hillary and Dennis have gotten this far with their looks (or in spite of them).

Humans may be pre-programmed to prefer symmetry, but we also have learned that looks are poor indicators of character.</description>
