Oh Tila!!!

Well, a little more respect, actually, and I think Tila might agree. The way many of the male competitors have treated the situation has been downright embarrassing. Inappropriately touching and interrogating these women seems to be acceptable behavior for the guys on the set. The way they talk about the female contestants in the “confession” segments is disgusting, calling the them he-shes and raving about dykes really being men anyway. Oh it’s unfortunate. And it’s not just the male contestants who are disappointing. The ladies, too, have acted ridiculously. Getting squeamish around the men, blatantly engaging in man-hating slander, mimicking pucking at the mention of a penis. Come on, ladies, it’s not like none of you have had positive relationships with men, sexual or otherwise.
I guess I’m not really surprised that these people are acting this way, I’m just annoyed and disappointed that the directors of the show have chosen to include these segments in the episodes instead of others. The editors have chosen to make a mockery of Tila’s sexuality instead of creating the hottest dating show to date and that’s unfortunate. Seriously, how could the editors have missed the boat on this one. 16 hot guys and 16 gorgeous ladies all fighting for one smokin’ bachelorette? And they’ve turned it into a ridiculous and frusterating, semi-entertaining show which lacks any sex appeal. What a shame…
Well what’s there to learn from this? Embracing and celebrating sexual diversity is way hotter than making fun of it. Man hating is pointless, queer bashing is ignorant, and forgetting about the smokin’ broad you’ve got a chance with it just plain dim-witted.
If you want to see it for yourself, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila airs on Tuesday nights on MTV at 10PM.
P.S. For hot bisexual reading try Any 2 People Kissing by Kate Dominic and Three-Way: Erotic Stories edited by Allison Tyler. Hot watching? Try any of Tristan Taormino’s videos, but especially Chemistry.

i didn’t even know that Tila was on ‘antique media’ like television.

I think TV will continue to be behind the times as the web paves the way for expression free from conservatism. Tila was one of the first celebrities to market themselves with Myspace. (Even before Dana Dearmond, who made her profession that way.) As folks started to catch on, Tila had already had about 1.5 million friends. She knows web 2.0 marketing, and how to sell it. MTV is like an after thought.
It’s terrible the way people are. It could be a really good show, but it’s like she’s been made a mockery of. It’s amazing how ignorant some people are. Might I add she is absolutely gorgeous.
