Penis, pelvis, pectoralis, prostate, patella, perineum, pancreas… so many P’s! Today though, we are discussing two very important P parts: the prostate and the perineum. If you take a look at our toy blurbs, you may notice that many of them mention “P-spot stimulation.” What the heck are you talking about, you may ask… do you mean the penis? Here are Good Vibrations, we often refer to the prostate as the P-spot. Ah, yes -— the prostate! I’m pretty sure I just heard you say. Found in biologically-born men, the prostate is a gland that envelops the urethra, tucked inside, reachable via the rectum. The P-spot, much like the G-spot in women, can be a source of great sexual pleasure. The prostate is a gland that lies along nerve pathways between the penis and the brain. Its main function is to produce a fluid that becomes part of semen. Many men experience a pleasurable sensation, and even orgasms, purely from prostate stimulation. One web site, Askmen.com, actually refers to the prostate as the “male G-spot”.
The author of the article also provides this interesting tidbit: In the beginning of the 20th century, many wives used a steel device that was sold at the time to manually massage their husband’s prostate during lovemaking. And during World War II, military medics gave prostate massages to soldiers who hadn’t been with a woman for months as a treatment for “pelvic congestion.” …as well as encourages men (straight men are the audience here) to explore anal and prostate stimulation with their (women) partners.
During a search for “prostate” and “sex” (I was curious if there was any porn related to the prostate out there in internet land), I came across this site: site. This collection of masturbation stories has 4 entries related to prostate stimulation. I love that one entry says, “I do it and I am not gay.” Which brings me to… no, it’s not a “gay thing” …every man has a prostate, and getting pleasure from the stimulation of the prostate doesn’t mean you’re gay. And I wish I didn’t have to even mention that, but with the stigma attached to anal sex… well, I guess I do! On Craigslist.org, I found 14 current listings in “men seeking men” that came up under a search for “prostate”. Looks like more than a few guys enjoy playing “doctor” and “patient”! Get out your anatomy books, fellas. There were 8 listings under “casual encounters”. It totally makes sense there are twice as more entries in men seeking men… seeing as there are two prostates in that formula! And just to be confusing…. Some may refer to the perineum as the P-spot. According to wikipedia, The perineum is generally defined as the surface region in both males and females between the pubic symphysis and the coccyx. Or, in layman’s term, the smooth part between the genitals and the anus that can feel really good when touched. Urbandictionary.com has both the prostate and the perineum listed under their P-spot entry.
