Did you hear the one about the punk rock band going through customs?
By JP • Aug 3rd, 2006 • Category: BlogWe here at GV love to hear other folks’ stories about close encounters of the sex toy kind. I just heard about a band, AntiProduct, that had an amusing story about vibrators. Not just any vibes, but Good Vibes. Having recently recorded a cover of the Beach Boys’ Good Vibrations (the song), they procured 600 rocket vibrators from Good Vibrations (the company) for an upcoming promotional campaign.
Of course, as in any sitcom, whether it’s American or British, hilarity ensued. It took some time to sort out the confusion, and once Her Majesty’s officers established that the toys were not WMD’s, they were let go. You just know that some of those customs officers knew what they were doing when they stopped those guys!
Speaking of our cousins across the pond, we’re excited to hear that the Center for Sex and Culture’s Masturbate-a-thon is debuting in London this week. Our friends Carol Queen & Robert Lawrence are en route there now, along with the documentary crews! Of course, the press over there is referring to the event as the Wank-a-thon – those wacky Brits!
